== The Ranch SkyDiving Boogie and Symposium 5^th to 9^th August ==

In addition to having an organized fun skydiving event we aim to train Six South African Women… to skydive… over 5 days… at The Ranch SkyDiving Boogie and Symposium 5^th to 9^th August. With Graduation (from the 10 level internationally recognised Accelerated FreeFall Course (AFF)) on National Women’s Day Tuesday 9^th August 2011 at Protea Hotel Ranch Resort (25km South of Polokwane, Limpopo).

AFF Students are sought, and can be self funded, or sponsored… Challenge a friend! Raise awareness or money for charity… Do something outrageously fun!

We will be able to take individuals, as well as small and even large groups for tandem introductory skydives throughout the event. Individual and group bookings are being taken.

There will be public areas, displays, talks, and 5 days of active skydiving and parachuting. Firsthand visitors, invited guests and groups will receive an introduction to the range of elements that surround the exciting world of skydiving and parachuting, as well as some of the personal and career development opportunities, associated with this specialist area of aviation in the 21^st Century.

== TANDEM CERTIFICATION AND CROSS-TRAINING COURSE ==

Tandem Instructor Training / Tandem Instructor Cross Training, to Sigma is on offer to Potential Tandem Instructor Candidates at The Ranch Boogie and Symposium courtesy of Thatch.

The prerequisites are available from somewhere on www.Para.co.za or just ask the ever wonderful Neeve on ad...@para.co.za

And NSTO will need to pre-approve your request.

== Last Weekend 9^th and 10^th July ==

The busiest we have been for a couple of weeks, winter isn’t that bad this side of the Magaliesberg people!

Deon and Danie both graduated AFF, Henk insisted on being on every load, and on every load he was. A couple of new faces, a bunch of wingsuiters and wingsuiting, and a nice few groups and individuals through for Tandem Introductory Skydives. All in all quite pleasant. Lovely weather at the moment here.

Thanks for coming out and enjoying. Welcome to the new faces! Congrats to latest AFF Graduates!

== This Weekend 16^th and 17^th July @ SkyDive Rustenburg ==

We can facilitate Double and Single AFF Instructor Levels (Levels 1 -10) on Saturday and possibly Sunday morning. Please take the opportunity if you are on AFF to get through.

Anyone wanting to book individual or group Tandem Introductory SkyDives please let us know ASAP.

Anyone wanting to come out and do anything specific please just let us know. Those that have let us know they are coming out, thanks for that. Bring it on!

== Saving South Africa’s Black and White Rhinos - Skydive for Rhinos ==

30 African Conservation Trust staff members and supporters will be leaping out of a plane on 6 August with our friends Angels’ Way to raise awareness and funding for anti-poaching activities that are urgently needed to protect South Africa’s remaining black and white rhino populations.

Please take a minute to check what they are raising awareness for exactly and see if you can help in anyway.

== Chief Instructor Graham Field’s Comment ==

A few words on tracking this week. Make sure whatever skydive you plan and do that you allow sufficient altitude to track away from your fellow skydivers before you deploy at a safe altitude. Don’t track up or down the line of flight unless you are the only group on the load or are out 1st or last - 1st out go the way you came from and last out go the way you are going ;) Never rely on vertical separation to give you space to open safely and always remember to wave before deploying to signal your intentions. Learn how to do a good flat track and how to turn during tracking to avoid people below you. Take some friends and go do a tracking dive - its a blast and may add a skill that could save your life one day.
