Happy Friday!

The weather is looking great for this weekend.  Daily the sprinklers are watering our landing area keeping it nice, and the worst of the cold weather seems to have passed.

We are ops normal / open this weekend, but closed for skydiving next weekend as I will be up in Polokwane preparing the on-site elements for The Ranch Boogie, and Graham has got many show jumps to do.  The Ranch SkyDiving Boogie and Symposium is 5th to 9th August, do not miss this one!

Thanks everyone that is playing ball and letting us know during the week if you are coming out and what your intentions are…  it really helps and is keeping us from having to implement a rigid “pre-manifest, book slots in advance” system.  Everyone still gets their jumps in, it is a lot less effort for us to manage, and keeps things nice and relaxed as well as flexible.  We do this for fun, not because we want to spend our week chasing people for commitment and planning every second of the weekend – All the planning in the world and it changes at the last minute in anycase!

Bookings are still essential for Tandem Introductory Skydiving and AFF Training. And if anybody want to “book” slots in advance for something specific we will of course do just that for you.  It’s the way we roll!

We have a number of opportunities at SkyDive Rustenburg for skydivers who want to put their ratings to good use, and to help others progress.  Please don’t wait to be invited, come out and make it happen!

==  Now - Lets go convert some Jet A1 into altitude and punch some holes in the sky this weekend ==

·         Wheels off for first load on both Saturday and Sunday will be at a nice relaxed time of around 09:30 – try to arrive around 09:15 latest on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.  A number of people are staying over Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights… I feel a bit of a party coming on!

·         We have a number of Tandem Introductory Skydives booked in for Saturday and Sunday mornings.

·         A number of fun jumpers as well as students progressing through ISPs have confirmed they are coming out…

·         We will also be able to facilitate single level AFF Instruction Saturday and Sunday – bookings are essential for AFF!

·         We will be able to facilitate a few more Tandem Introductory Skydives this weekend - for anyone that hasn’t booked yet.

·         Peter Hansen will be available on Sunday if anyone needs reserve repacks done – he does them on site and gives you your rig back the same day.  Thanks Peter, people really appreciate getting their systems back on the same day.

·         Remember to get your reserve up to date before The Ranch Boogie… Let me know if you want a reserve repack this weekend that I can let Peter know.

Anyone wanting to come out and do anything specific just let us know - as foretold in the prophecy, the  chances are good we will make your requests manifest to reality!

There is massive interest and support for this event.  Aside from the fun skydiving boogie skills development element we are actively promoting for people to come out and to get a taste of what SkyDiving and Parachuting is all about in the 21st Century.  We also aim to train and qualify Six South African Females to skydive at this event – with Graduation from Accelerated FreeFall on National Women’s Day.  We will of course also be taking people on Tandem Introductory Skydives at the event – Spread the word, forward the links!

Almost daily more Sponsors and Supporters as well as Media Partners are coming on board…

Other Stuff

Check this link from last week’s Durban Virginia Airshow.  SkyDive Rustenburg Chief Instructor Graham Field took 80 year old Ruth Hartley for a Tandem Skydive.  Airshow organizer Ray Devries named it the “standout act” of the air show attended by some 15 000 spectators.
