Hi,

I would like to see how the latest version of android x86 works on my
samsung q1 ultra.

I saw some old posts of people installing it, but I don't know which
build I need to install.

There are build for many devices... but.. which one is the best for
me?

I'll find one with all the drivers preinstalled, or I need to start
with a generic one and install everything manually?

Thanks

NoiZe

Hi,

I did the original Q1U port. I've been preping to start on ICS, but I've been really busy. I have sources synced and a few local changes.

I will try to get something going this weekend.

I love these kinds of responses.

I spent a year trying to get more info about the Q1U (as there are multiple models, and not all are the same) from others asking for support, and when I give up is when people start asking about status and ETAs. How convenient.

Just like android-porting on mainstream mobile devices; the devices supported by android-x86 depends on the devices the developers have at their disposal and the time those developers have to do the work to support that device.

I happen to still have my device, I just don't have any time to even look at that thing. The effort I'd put in to making android-x86 ICS/JB on this device, I can spend my time getting a few more contracts so I can pay my bills. Priority is an issue for me.

I do plan on doing some updates, but I give no timeline, as I cannot guarantee any timeline I propose.

Search back through google groups for 'Q1U' in this group. Look for threads where I am asking for more info about the many variants of Q1U, and answer those questions for me. No one has done that for me, and so I think this device is not relevant because no one responded.

Help me, help you.

Here, I'll even "help you, help me" a bit more:

Read and answer the first post, and I will be happy to help out.

I finally got one myself bro and I was joking around... Guess I should've added an "LoL" to my previous message... Has your question been resolved or still unanswered if unanswered I'll see what I can do...

Echo... Which build do I start with?

Just because the thread is dead, doesn't mean support for the device is dead!
