Google Latitude not available after update?

The Maps version after the update is reported as Maps v3.0, but I
don't see a latitude option in the menu. Going over m.google.com/
latitude just fires up the map application. Does anyone have a working
latitude after the 1.1 update?

As I understand latitude is not available on the ADP1.

That's disappointing. Any plans to just release it separately then? Or
are we out of luck until some API opens up for Latitude and someone
writes their own app?

:( I thought it would be included just as the "searching by voice" and
"priced apps". Do you know if there is a fundamental policy issue for
not having it on ADP1 images, or is this just a result of the freeze
being made before the RC33 time frame?

Hello,
I have Latitude on my Dev Phone. I do not understand why you would not
(or why I do)

I also have Latitude on my ADP1. I received it as part of the holiday
update OTA a little while back. Starting to think I should not upgrade
to this. Also will Google finally let devs from outside UK/US post
paid apps!

I just found this post and confirmed that flipping this bit on ADP1
does enable the Latitude UI. This leads me to believe that you
upgraded from one of the JF RC33 images.

In any event, anyone with root can flip that sqlite3 variable and I
guess that everyone that played by the rules will have to do so. Since
Google is essentially an information black-hole, we will probably
never know why Google turned this off on ADP1 or if they're going to
come along at some point in take it away permanently. So far, the
Android community is good for something: lifting Google imposed
restrictions. (See discussion of copy protected apps. on rooted RC33
for a perfect example.)

Framework...

The workaround posted by Jason worked. Thank you very much :)

The files should already be there in the 1.1 update - the funny part
is that if you enable Latitude in Maps by hacking the system the
system will be reset once every day disabling the Latitude
functionallity!?!
