Update Android 1.0 to 1.6

Hi,

I'm working with Android Dev Phone 1 and I would like to update it to
1.6.
After updating, will I be able to run applications made in Android 1.0
in that device? If not, it is posible to downgrade to 1.0 again?

Yes, 1.6 can run 1.0 apps.
Yes, you can downgrade if you want.
No, you shouldn't downgrade or ever run 1.0 since there are no (or
very negligible number of..) devices running 1.0.
The lowest version you will find commonly on a consumer device is 1.5.
Most run 1.6 or 2.x.
