Hi,

I was just wondering about the choice of EBS backed images rather than S3 backed images.  I recently wrote some automation to create images in pallet, and went the S3 route as it seemed easier to me, so was intrigued to see aminator using EBS.  Any particular reasons for the choice?

Hi, The primary reason was that we found the creation of EBS backed images to be more time efficient when starting from an existing AMI snapshot. This blog post gives a more detailed background.

It could be possible to create S3 backed images with Aminator if an s3 finalizer plugin were available.
