Dear in Christ,

I hope you had the opportunity to meditate on the message I sent yesterday. Some of you have written to me, regarding the length of the message. I perfectly understand your concern. From now onwards, I will try my best break down the message into smaller segments, without losing its essence.

We ended our discussion with a very solemn question asking "Whether belief (or) faith alone, in Jesus Christ, was possible to obtain salvation?".

We find the answer to our question in James ch2v20 "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead", v26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also".

To further understand the TRUTH, I will try to set before you various examples from the Old and News Testament alike, and by analyzing  these examples, let us extract the TRUTH hidden therein.

Noah's Ark:

God was very grieved by the wickedness of the people and therefore God decides to destroy the earth (Gen ch6:12). However, the Bible says, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord (v8). So God declares his destruction plan to Noah, and asks him to built an Ark to save him and his family  from the upcoming floods.

Now, if God has decided to save Noah, is the Ark the only means to save them from the flood? We should remember, God created the heaven and the earth, and everything in it, out of nothing. So with God, nothing is impossible. God could have easily saved Noah in millions or trillions of other ways, without any effort from Noah's side.

But God asks Noah to built the Ark. Why? Because, God wanted Noah's involvement. God wanted to know if Noah was really faithful, and building the Ark was the perfect test of Noah's faith. Now, if Noah has just believed and said to himself "God loves me, HE wont let me suffer, and if he decides not to built the ark", then  I am sure the consequences would have been different.

So what do we see here, FAITH and ACTION combined to produce the right results. Noah, not only believed in what the Lord God said, but did exactly as the Lord has commanded him to do. It was a big task, but Noah and his family faithfully did that.

You see, Spiritual life is a like a iceberg. What you see on the top is the works, which is the smallest portion of a spiritual life. The major portion lies beneath, and that is FAITH. It is FAITH that powers our works in Jesus Christ.

Let us close today's discussion with a verse from the Bible 'Heb ch11v7 'By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house, by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith'

I hope you have got a pretty idea about what we are dealing here.

God willing, tomorrow we will look at another example from the Old Testament, wherein we will see the "Plan of Salvation" clearly explained.
