Dear brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope everything is going
great with you and your family and please know you are in my prayers
for the Lord's guidance and blessing.
The subject we
are going to meditate today is one of utmost importance. I
cant emphasize enough about its importance. I pray that the spirit of
God guides you in this matter.
It is about the salvation of our souls.
The
Bible says in Revelation ch3v11 "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast
which thou hast, that no man take thy crown". This verse needs no
further explanation, as it simply proclaims the second coming of Jesus,
asking us to make sure our calling and be firm in our faith.
What is Salvation?
Why is it so important for our souls?
How we can obtain Salvation?
These
are some of the questions which we will tackle today. As the subject is
big and cannot be addressed in one email, I will break it down into
smaller segments, so that it is easier for us all.
What is Salvation?
Salvation
is the express proof of God's love towards us sinners. God's project to
help us reconcile with HIM, and thereby save our souls from everlasting
damnation. Wait a minute, Did I say, "Sinners". Yes, I did and I will
say again "We are all sinners".
Oxford dictionary defines "Sin" as "breaking of divine or moral law"
Not
that we need proof to know that we are sinners, but for the sake of
discussion I wish to point out a few verses from the Bible, which
depicts our fallen condition:
1. Man is a sinner."Rom 3:10, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
"Rom 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
"Isa
53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to
his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Still not convinced about your nature, then please read the "10 commandments" and then tell me, if you are a sinner or not.
2. There is a price on sin, eternal death in hell. Now
for a little bit of science. Newton law states that for every action
there is an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, what you sow
is what you reap. It is all about cause and effect. If you jump from a
multi storeyed building, you will die, if you are lucky
enough, you will end up in a hospital with multiples fractures. In the
same way, if we sin, there is a price to be paid and the price for
sinning is "Death".
Yes, Death – Spiritually. Disconnected
from the fellowship of God. After our physical death, our souls will
suffer eternal damnation in HELL. That is the consequences of SIN.
Let us read a few verses from the Bible, which reassures us of these simple facts.
"Rom 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death...."
"Rom
5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
"Rev 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
"Rev
21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all
liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death."
Is there a way out ? Yes,
there is. The ONE and only way out as Bible clearly states in Hebrews
ch9v22 "Without the shedding of blood is no remission".
Will any blood do? No. Only "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin, I John 1:7 ".
There is only ONE way, and that is Jesus,
I repeat , There is only ONE way, and that is Jesus.
3. Jesus paid that price on the cross. And why did Jesus have to undergo this, because of the love God has towards us.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8."
"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us." 2 Cor. 5:21
"For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life, John 3:16"
OK, now God and Jesus has done their part, now what am I supposed to do.
4. By faith in Jesus Christ we can be saved."
John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"
" John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
"
John 6:40, "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one
which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day."
" Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Now this is the most important part, where many of us are made to falter.
When
we say believe, what does it imply. Does it simply means that a sinner
only has to believe the fact that Jesus died for our sins, and will
that take him to heaven?
I want you to ponder this question tonight. Think about it seriously, as your very life depends upon it.
Tomorrow
we will tackle this question in detail, and I will also try my best to
show examples from the Old and New testament to set before you the
TRUTH.
I ask for your continual prayers for this ministry.
God Bless you,
In HIS grace,
Tony
