Here is a link to it:

Let me know if that link doesn't work.

It turns out that the S100 to PC Bus board by John uses several PAL ICs, 22v10 specifically.  I have used those in the past (a long time ago), but I would prefer not.  I would rather use a small FPGA module, such as a cheap Tang 9K or 20K.

It's probably easier to just use standard TTL chips for prototyping something up, especially since the "Sea of Holes" prototype board already has S100 bus buffers.

I think I would stick with the PALs. Drop in the programmer. Load the file and press program. Plug in the socket. Done. I would assume the code already works so it removes one more variable in getting the board to work. It may also be easier for the average hobbyist to troubleshoot with a scope. I suspect more people would warm up to programming a PAL vs an FPGA, and PALs are just through-hole DIP chips.  However I can see how an FPGA would free up real estate to some extent, though a module might take up more.

Hi,

This is the link I put in the chat:
62-Pin ISA Edge Card Connector 2.54mm Right Angle Gold Contacts https://www.ebay.com/itm/137341320984

PAL v. FPGA ... the thing about this is either chip/module would need to be preprogrammed for at least half the users if there isn't a FREE program that can run on Windows, Linux and Mac.

The FujiNet stuff sounds like something to explore, but I don't know if I would use it other than to post copies of my programs up there to share.

OTOH, something that might be more useful is an internet connection between Altair 8800's for one-on-one gaming.

Maybe Patrick can help me and we can setup a demo of that for a ZOOM one day.

Walt, just to clarify, the FujiNet doesn’t let you post copies of your programs to share.

The FujiNet can access shared files on a TNFS server, but the FujiNet itself isn’t a server and doesn’t share anything.

This page will give you a good idea of what the FujiNet does through its “N:” interface.

Also, when reading FujiNet documents, it is good to remember that it was designed around the Atari computer’s SIO interface and has been adapted to support other systems.
