Hi,

I was just thinking, a discussion on reforming capacitors might be useful.

As people buy used computers, they need to know how to safely test everything piece by piece and insure things like capacitors are either replaced (Tantalum) or reformed.

I also wonder what other components might need testing?

Then there's the best ways to clean inside and outside the cabinets, the old D-Sub connectors etc.

Yes, great points.

You've probably dealt with many such subjects over the years and many of us could probably learn some tips from you.  I'm guessing you've been doing S-100 and Vintage a long time, many different machines.

As you probably saw, Jeffrey Wilson just updated me on how I should test my CompuPro boards (many practical and necessary ideas) prior to plugging any vintage board into the new S-100 ATX Motherboard that I have.

There's quite a lot to it, and it all makes sense.

Cheers

Hi,

I don't think you're going to learn all that much from me as I should be considered a beginner.

OTOH, this is also why I keep making webpages to help people as I learn, or get fed the information to help others and myself.
