Hi, is there anyone who can repair/service a Omega Constellation
Electronic f300HZ in the UK. The watch has just stopped, got someone to
check the batteries but they are fine so there must be something amiss
with the watch.

any help would be appreciated.

regards,

Hi-
If it "just stopped" then problem is bad coil(s). There are
two of them. Did you drop the watch? This will ruin a
coil instantly. Any competent watchmaker can probably
fix it, but problem is finding watchmaker with knowledge
of electronics. I have coils- $45 each. I can also supply
complete oscillator module (which is simple to replace)
for $125. This contains two new coils, index wheel and
associated gearing.

Surely any Omega dealer but they will probably send it away to Omega UK
(aka SMC Ltd) down in Hampshire- based on my experiences with them they
will:
a) have it for 3 weeks or more!
b) it will cost a lot - £35 just for a reseal and battery repalcement!
c) you wil run a high risk that it is sealed incorrectly or has some
other quality control problem and you will have to send the watch back -
happened to me 3 times now!!!

Sorry to be so pessimistic - I love some of the Omega watches BUT I hate
the UK company for its attitude, its sloth, arrogance etc

Well if you're interested in selling it Simon I am interested in buying
it - seriously! As I said I love the Omega Seamaster and I already own a
plain st.steel Constellation so if you are intersted in selling let me
know. And if anyone wants to make an offer for the Constellation which
ha been well looked after - again - let me know
