Dear Dr. Sansing,

St. Louis Area Undergraduate Research Symposium (STLAURS) is an annual professional conference recognizing exceptional undergraduate research.  This is the only event for students to formally collaborate with peers, faculty and industry leaders from universities and businesses across the St. Louis region.  This year’s event will take place Saturday, April 1 at the Union Station Hotel in downtown St. Louis.

I would like to ask for Alpha Chi Sigma's assistance in recruiting chemists from across the region in supporting this event as a judge or observer.  This event specifically calls upon involvement from R&D based companies in the St. Louis area to form connections with potential interns or future employees.  Junior and senior students from University of Missouri-St. Louis, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Washington University, St. Louis University, and St. Louis College of Pharmacy will be present at this event.

STLAURS offers such companies a unique opportunity to be in direct contact with a high concentration of junior and senior students in biological and physical science research.  Additionally, this is a fantastic event for Alpha Chi Sigma brothers to interact with the broad regional community to encourage and promote the development of the next generation of research scientists.  This year, the entirely run student leadership board has chosen to support academic and industry collaboration.  As a result, attendance at this event will be free of charge to Alpha Chi Sigma brothers.  The day will run from 9AM to 4PM and include a seated lunch, refreshments throughout the day, two poster sessions, and oral presentations.

Again, I would greatly appreciate your assistance in getting this out to your members.  Additional information regarding STLAURS can be found at http://www.stlaurs.org/, or by directly contacting ngo...@wustl.edu.

Thank you,

Natalie Golota
