Small Project Review Application (SPRA)

Comment End Date Friday, March 06, 2026

Linked below for your review is an electronic copy of the Small Project Review Application (SPRA) for the proposed 676 Washington Street project located in Brighton which was received on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The filing kicks off the public review process for the proposed project. Notice of upcoming public meetings will be posted on the project website and sent out as soon as possible.

The following project description has been provided by the development team:

Proponent seeks to restore, renovate, expand and convert the long-existing Church Building at the Property Site into a multifamily residential development of up approximately 49,500 gross square feet, with up to 33 units of market rate and income restricted housing, below grade garaged parking and related site and access improvements at its newly sub-divided lot of approximately 38,968 square feet (the “Phase 1 Project”). It will retain a majority of the Church Building’s public facing front and side elevations along Washington Street, with a carefully designed and appropriately sited four (4) story addition at the rear.

The public is encouraged to submit comments about the proposed project. The current comment period will be open through Friday, March 06, 2026, and can be extended if necessary. After the conclusion of the comment period, staff of the Planning Department will review feedback and determine next steps. Proposed projects often go through multiple rounds of review. Once this process concludes, staff of the Planning Department will make a recommendation to the BPDA Board, which will consider the project at a monthly Board meeting. For any questions or concerns related to the comment period, please reach out to the Project Manager below.
