Office of Participatory Budgeting

 
The voting phase of Participatory Budgeting starts on January 15th! This is an opportunity for Boston residents to select the projects that will have the biggest impact on your community.

From January 15 to February 15, 2026, you can VOTE and decide on how $2.2 million in Participatory Budgeting funds will be invested in community-driven projects across the City. Selected projects are a one-time, non-recurring investment, and will start planning for implementation in the Spring of 2026.

Cycle Two (2) Project Proposals:
  • Neighborhood Fresh Food Access Initiative | $500,000
  • Immigrant Legal Defense Fund | $400,000
  • Immigrant Stories Through Art: Creating Belonging, Building Connections | $300,000
  • Workforce Training Programs Focused on Trades | $300,000
  • Immigrant Career Pathways: Bridging Language and Employment | $300,000
  • Youth Financial Literacy and Empowerment Workshops | $250,000
  • Small Business Development Resource Program | $250,000
  • Community Litter Reduction Campaign | $200,000
  • Green My Block | $100,000
  • Voices of Recovery: Sobriety Supports and Storytelling Pilot | $200,000
  • Healing Through Art: Creative Pathways to Wellness | $300,000
  • Bridging the Gap: Assistance for Housing Stability | $200,000
  • Senior Caregiver Resources & Training Programs | $200,000

Voting Requirements:
  • Be a City of Boston resident
  • Be at least 11 years old (or at least in 6th grade)
  • Share first and last name, and Boston neighborhood where they live
  • Vote only one time

NOTE: To access the PB voting platform, a cell phone number is needed to authenticate. If a phone number is not an option for your, a unique PIN can be requested by emailing

  • In-person voting will take place at City Hall through a paper ballot, as well as in selected BCYF Community Centers (Martin Pino, Quincy/BPS Josiah Quincy Elementary School, Holland, Leahy Holloran, Vine Street, Hennigan, and Marshall.)
