Subject: Ringer Park: Construction Resuming!

Dear friends and neighbors of Ringer Park,

I hope you are enjoying this break in the cold weather!

Thank you to everyone who joined the recent Community Briefing about lighting at Ringer Park. At the meeting we reviewed the community-driven updates to the park’s lighting plan, including improved pedestrian lighting (owned and operated by Boston Street Lights) and new sport court lighting (owned and operated by Boston Parks). This work will be incorporated into the ongoing park improvements.

With temperatures improving, the contractor will begin remobilizing this week. Work will ramp up next week and continue until the park opens. Please anticipate the sounds of construction activity in the neighborhood. Toward the end of March, the contractor will also need to remove some ledgestone, which will create a louder-than-usual hammering sound. Under City of Boston contract requirements, this type of work is permitted between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday (though the contractor typically wraps up work around 3:00 PM at Ringer).

For abutters along High Rock Way and Grigg’s Place, please note that next week there will be tree removal work along the back of the tennis courts and along the fencing at Grigg’s Place to accommodate the new chain link fencing.

The unusually harsh winter weather did slow the project schedule somewhat, but we still do our best to get this park fully open as soon as possible this summer! As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Nellie

Upcoming Vacation Notification: I will be out of the office Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, and will return on Monday, March 23.
