PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT

Thank you to all who submitted feedback on the 14 draft proposals! We have reviewed your comments and have been working closely with relevant City Departments over the past few weeks to assess the feasibility of all project ideas and add estimated costs.

The final proposals for the PB ballot will be presented at our next External Oversight Board meeting on Tuesday, January 6th. Please mark your calendars and join us. Below are the meeting details.

PB Voting

From January 15 to February 15, 2026, Boston residents will be able to VOTE on their top proposals and decide on how $2.2 million of the City budget can be invested in one-time, non-recurrent community-driven projects across the City.

Voting Requirements
  • All Boston residents age 11 and older, regardless of citizenship, are eligible to vote.
  • Voting is limited to one vote per resident.
  • Each resident is encouraged to vote for up to five (5) projects.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the voting dates!

EXPLORE THE IDEA SUBMISSIONS DASHBOARD!

From July 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025, the Office of Participatory Budgeting (OPB) asked Boston residents how they would spend $2.2 million to benefit their communities.

OPB compiled all resident idea submissions for Cycle Two of Ideas in Action into an IDEA SUBMISSIONS DASHBOARD. You can navigate the dashboard by selecting one of the nine (9) Community Priorities or explore all the ideas in one page. Ideas can be filtered by neighborhood, topic, location, or searching for a specific keyword. Additionally, residents will be able to search the ideas that were submitted last year during PB Cycle One.

Thank you for your engagement in Participatory Budgeting! If you have any questions, please email us at p...@boston.gov.

Warm regards,

The OPB Team
