Dear Allston-Brighton Neighbor,
Thank you for your partnership and I hope you had an excellent start to the week. Last week, the city hosted a meeting regarding the future of the Jackson Mann Community Center. Specifically, we presented the Jackson Mann Housing Feasibility Study, gave timeline updates, and listened to community members who shared thoughts and asked questions. The study and slides from the meeting can be viewed on the BCYF Jackson Mann webpage.
In order to move forward, we are working to reach community consensus by the end of the calendar year about what else will go on the site along with the new community center: housing, a BPS elementary school, retail, a mix of those uses, or something else entirely. The City of Boston is collecting feedback from the Allston-Brighton community on what you want the future of the Jackson Mann parcels to be. Please help us by filling out this survey. Our comment period ends July 10, 2026.
If you would like to send your feedback directly or have questions, reach out to the City’s Office of Neighborhood Services Deputy Director, Frank Mendoza-McCarthy, at francis.men...@boston.gov.
With Appreciation,
