Hi all,
Thank you for your patience with the ongoing
Improvements to Ringer Park! We know this is an important community gathering and recreation space, and our goal is to reopen the park this summer.
The contractor has been working diligently to complete the project as quickly as possible. However, the unusually cold and snowy winter did affect the construction schedule. At this time, our target is to reopen most of the park in August, with any remaining
areas under construction in August anticipated to open in September.
As many of you may have noticed, we have encountered a significant amount of ledgestone (bedrock) below ground, which has added complexity to the construction process. Removing the ledgestone is difficult, costly, and unfortunately noisy. We understand this
has been disruptive, and we appreciate your patience. Ledge removal is expected to continue for approximately another month. After that, work will shift to above-ground improvements, which will be quieter and much more exciting to watch take shape.
We also want to let you know that we have granted the contractor permission to work on site on Monday, April 20, with restrictions on work hours and noise levels. The contractor remains committed to reopening the park as soon as possible.
A special thank you to all abutters for your patience during the perimeter fence replacement. We believe the new fence will be a significant improvement over the existing condition.
Thanks again for your continued advocacy and support of the project. I hope you all enjoy the Boston Marathon!
