Commonwealth Miami is thrilled to announce the opening of their modern day speakeasy, whiskey bar and restaurant located at 1216 Washington Avenue in the heart of South Beach. Commonwealth Miami is the brainchild of Miami nightlife veterans Angel Sanchez and Paul Brown who wanted to create a bar for locals and (tourists alike) with delicious food and creative craft cocktails all set at a reasonable price.

The overall concept behind Commonwealth is derived from the speakeasy era of cocktails, combined with a rustic modern twist from the décor to the cocktails and spirits – down to the eclectic American fare style menu created by Chef Daniel Roy.  Angel Sanchez and Paul Brown combine their two decades of nightlife experience with their innate ability to conceptualize an idea into a successful brand to create the unique concept of Commonwealth. 

What sets Commonwealth apart is they are the first whiskey & bourbon bar to hit the Miami nightlife scene and aimed to deliver high-quality craft cocktails and amazing food using locally sourced ingredients in a laid back atmosphere.  After a very well thought out and selective process, Commonwealth boasts over 100 whiskeys, scotches and bourbons from around the world as well as local craft beers, wines and an innovative craft cocktail menu.  Guests can expect to find new twists on classics such as an Old Fashioned like the “Strawberry Feelings” featuring Dickel No.8, strawberry balsamic reduction and orange bitters. Additional fan favorites include the “Flamingo” made with Toki Japanese Whiskey stirred with Angustora and charred grapefruit   infused with Cocchi di Torino Vermouth and the “Shady Sandy” made with Bulleit Bourbon and Giffard pink grapefruit shaken with fresh lemon and topped with Hefeweizen.  All cocktails are made with locally sourced organic ingredients and juices are squeezed fresh daily.
