I am delighted to report that the Non Violent Direct Action (NVDA) training this past weekend was a marvelous success!
It was held on Saturday and Sunday, full days each. Participants ages ranged from late teens to around 80. The training and exercises focused on goals, strategies, safety, messaging and more, with supportive examples from previous actions. The spirit of solidarity was strong! We enjoyed new and old friends, and built new connections. And we had lots of fun. We look forward to strong, ongoing, brave collaboration!
Two trainers traveled from Anchorage. The other trainers were very talented and experienced local folks. Lunch and snacks were available both Saturday and Sunday, and many assorted materials were available for different exercises. Child care was also provided.
We thank all donors to the Alaska Peace Center for helping APC participate in funding this long-awaited event! APC provided approximately one third of the total cost, with Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition (FCAC) and the Northern Alaska Environmental Center providing approximately the other two thirds.
Big thanks to every supporting organization and individual!
Thank you, each of you, for caring deeply about Peace. And thank you for all you do.
Peace and many blessings,
