Planner I (Zoning) $16.87 - $21.09/hour/DOE $2,924-$3,655/month/DOE
Position is responsible for the maintenance of the Zoning Ordinance, application and exercising independent judgment regarding interpretation of zoning laws, issuing Certificates of Occupancy, reviewing building permit applications and enforcement of zoning laws. Ability to read plats, maps, and site plans, perform mathematical calculations to determine required green space, parking spaces, etc., research and analyze zoning issues, prepare reports and correspondence, and make zoning presentations at public meetings. Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field and/or some experience in urban planning or related work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Formal education or experience in GIS, or cartography also desired. Accepting the first 15 completed applications until Friday, January 14, 2013, at noon, or until filled.
