Dear all,

Many thanks to all those that contributed to the meeting (attending
and / or providing inputs). The discussions were excellent in my
opinion and we got much further in achieving consensus than i'd
expected. A great start I think. Here are the output materials
attached:

* The short introductory and summary presentations.[pdf]

* The outline AIF document we've agreed to develop
into a strawman model for the AIF based on discussions.
[openoffice+txt+pdf]

* The top level model for elements to be defined which
came out of discussions. [openoffice + jpg + pdf]

The plan is now for each of the discussion groups relevant to section
4.1 - 4.3 to write up a brief input based on their discussions so we
can quickly synthesise a complete document to serve as a reference
point for further work. The timelines for this are:

* 7th Oct: inputs circulated on this list [in the meantime the
named person for each section is responsbile for coordinating
inputs]

* 14th-21st Oct: integrated document circulated and completed.

* 28th Oct: public release of the strawman document.

For those that were unable to attend the meeting hopefull the content
circulated by 7th of Oct will help put across the main points of the
discussions that went on!

At the event we also decided:

* There was enough energy and enthusiasm to continue as an ad-hoc
activity.
* The google groups forum would act as the main contact point.
* Cancer Research UK [Sanjay Modgil / Matt South / Dan Grecu]
are willing to act in a lightweight coordinating role to
try and encourage us all in getting a result.
* We will try to organise a further small meeting with EUMAS
in December 2006 and subsequentely explore possibilities for
co-location with other events.

If there are any other inputs people would like to add to the web site
please let me know. more updates as the inputs arrive.

Many thanks again to everyone - its hard to know if we'll end up
with a useful "format" as such, or even a consensus on core
concepts - but at the very least it has been a stimulating
exercise so far!

Best regards

steve.
