Some people have been asking for a more detailed outline of what we
will be covering. so here it is please let me know if you plan on
attending so we can have correct amount of space and supplies on
hand. I have also posted a PDF docuement to this site also.

GCA and Madison are hosting a 1to1, 3 day, laptop workshop on GCA’s
campus on June 8-10. It is a program designated for principals and
technology staff (or those interested in technology), to show them the
common success or failure factors in starting and maintaining a 1to1
laptop program.

The cost of the workshop is $100 dollars for all materials needed for
the workshop. Also the attendants may stay on the GCA campus in the
dorms for $25 a night (they need to bring their own bedding if they
wish to do this.) or they may stay at a nearby hotel. We are asking

Do we eat in the GCA cafeteria during the laptop workshop?  How much does food cost? I'm sure that's not included in the $100. fee for the workshop!

The cafe is closed but the rooms all have Microwaves and Friges and there is lots of food options close. Toco Bell, Ryans, Ruby Tuesday, Long Horn, Star Bucks,  tons of Mexican and  Asian food places.  We will have some munchies on hand also!

I have had some people asking if these seminars are going be technical
and over their heads here is my typical response.

We are going to make sure we translate the geek speak into English and
if we do not then stops us and ask us to do so! We are going to spend
a lot of time looking at policies and procedures which will not be
technical but more administrative. I think we will cover several
things that you will be able to take back with you that can be applied
to any school as technology is a part any teaching program even if
they do not have laptops.

There will be some more technical break outs for those interested in
getting some real hands on technical knowledge but and will help bring
along those who want to learn but do not have a lot of exposure to
technical information.
