Has anybody else mounted large HDTV monitors in classrooms instead of projectors?  Metropolitan Junior Academy has installed one as a test and the results have been positive so far.  We used a Down and Out Mount from www.Dynamicmounting.com so it is tucked out of the way when the teacher is using the whiteboard and brought down when the monitor is needed.  Here it is in action.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kfPkClJWpk

We are looking at connecting an AppleTV as a next step to integrate an iMac and iPads.  Any information on pitfalls from those that have attempted would be appreciated.

Thank you,

This looks like a creative concept provided you have a high enough ceiling.

We are opting for Epson BrightLink interactive projectors as they have recording capabilities that expand teaching options beyond simply display of information.

Flipped classrooms are big considerations when making technology choices.

Hello Rick,

My name is Aaron Long.  I saw your email a while back and intended to share some input on setting up a school-wide system of Apple TV's etc, but got wrapped up in the day to day business of teaching.  I just came across your email and thought I would check in with you and see if you have already conquered the install and set up of your system, and if not, I would be happy to follow up with advice/ input.  Let me know.

Blessings,

Aaron Long
