You have touched on a lot of topics in this teaching, hey? However, the 2 caught my attention.
Pride vs Confidence
I think what I have learned from this is the fact that most of us, confuse pride with confidence, which is what we were taught growing up. Our teachers don't draw the line between the two. I mean a woman who is sure of her looks and capabilities(that she is the better woman) is viewed as confident, while in fact she has the "proud look". I must confess, I also didn't know the difference until today. Thank you so much for exposing me to this knowledge.
And a man who thinks he can have anything he wants and has the right to have it is viewed as being confident, when in fact this is arrogance and means that he has a proud outlook on life.
Pride vs Competitiveness
This is actually a question, in a corporate environment that most of us find ourselves, competitiveness is praised and awarded. And inevitably if your colleague out performs you, you will become envious, to a point where some will resort to underhand tactics in the name of competition. So, how do we overcome this in an environment that awards what God rejects?
Kind Regards,
Mildred

What you are raising, is a very good question. I don't claim to know everything. Some other things i need to go and ask God and some he has already taught me about them. God taught me that , The life that i must live in this world should be at least close to the life that i am going to live in Heaven.
We all know that in Heaven there is no loser. We are all winners because there is no competition. The Devil tried the competition when he was a citizen of heaven, but God removed him from heaven. If you have a colleague that is getting awards at work , be happy for him or her, Don't wish it was you, because God in the ten commandments said
"You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour."
So to be away from that sin, keep away from competition. One thing that i must mention is that people are keen to get earthly rewards. If you work hard and you don't get awards or being recognised. You must always know that God is watching what you are doing and you don't need mankind to reward you, but God will certainly reward you in this life or the next.
I hope i have answered your question.
God Bless
The eye must be on the 'heavenly prize' instead of the 'earthly prize'.
Thank you so much.
God Bless

I came across something over the weekend that stretched on what Bro V communicated to me on Friday.
It read:
5 secrets to satisfaction.
Number 1:Love all people, not for money and what they have.
This taught me that if we love people for who they are, we will never experience that point where people's values change in our eyes as their situations change. If you refer to 1 Timothy 6:10, you will learn that "Money is a root of all evil", and the more we chase it, the more it eludes us.
Number 2: Never compare yourself to anyone
By comparing myself to my friend who was blessed with marriage at an early age, a colleague whose career is blossoming, and a neighbour whose house is bigger than mine, I'm not doing myself a favour, I'm actually planting a seed of envy in my soul. If you read Galatians 6:4, you will see that the bible advises again comparison/ competition.
Number 3:Have a grateful Spirit
Please see:1 Thessalonians 5:18. In this scripture you will find that the bible advises us to be grateful for anything we have, however big or small. If we have this Spirit, we will know that not everyone is meant to have the same things, and the more we are thankful, the more our Spirits will be blessed.
Number 4:Choose your friends wisely
Most of us have friends who either help us be grateful and be content with what we have and accept us for who we are, or those who don't accept us for what/ who we are and therefore making us envy to become more like them or better in order to satisfy them. Please see Proverbs 13:20(Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm) and 1 Corinthians 15:33(Bad company corrupts good character) where we learn that the friend we keep can make or break us.
Number 5:Satisfy your Spiritual need
Matthew 5:3 encourages us to be Spiritually hungry as those who seek the Kingdom of God above all, shall be blessed for all eternity.
As I came across the above, the questions I had on Friday were no longer question, as I have learned if I can affirm all the above everyday, I will get all the happiness and satisfaction I'll ever need.
I just wanted to share....I hope y'all don't mind.
Enjoy your day and may you all be blessed.
