Mini-Grants Now Available for Under-Resourced Colleges & Universities to Train Contractors, Architects, etc in 'Green Building'

What: Schools will use the funds to send external building professionals (i.e. construction contractors, architects, designers, engineers) who work with their schools to attend green building training opportunities. Minority-serving institutions, community and technical colleges, small, inner city, rural, religiously-affiliated institutions, and public universities in under-resourced states are encouraged to apply.  The primary goal of this program is to assist under-resourced institutions in pursuing climate neutrality by increasing the green building competence of local and regional consultants working on campus bricks and mortar and retrofit projects. Once more contractors receive training in 'green building,' we expect this program will also decrease the premiums they charge for campus green building projects.
 
When: The deadline for applications is February 12, 2010.
