I am pleased to announce that Acumen is expecting another batch of metal lever counters in the next few days and there are two spare ones available at £60 inc p&p both UK and worldwide – cheque with order.   Please email first to confirm your reservation and check availability.

We can also offer some ideas for books for possible as Christmas presents – visit www.acumenbooks.co.uk/xmas071.htm for more details.  Please note we shall consolidate orders for our wholesaler so our delivery may be up to 3 weeks but still in time for Christmas.   We are offering them at RRP post free (UK only) or 3 with 10% discount.  Please send cheque with order to 167 Nantwich Road, Audley, ST7 8DL

ACU&S have decided to ballot their members on the proposal to abolish ACU&S and suggest that members join ECBACO instead.   General Council has NOT made any recommendation on which way members should vote.  Papers will be in the November edition of How's That and everyone should vote on this important issue.   Overseas members will be able to fax their vote.

Very active discussion has already started on http://nompere.proboards37.com/index.cgi?action=recent about these proposals.  Acumen welcomes polite comments (both for and against) from non-members as well as members in UK and overseas.   We do not censor postings unless they are illegal.  ACU&S UK members can also visit their own discussion board at http://www.acus.org.uk/memberslogin.asp which has just been started.

Meanwhile Mike Gatting has postponed the ECBOA Regional meetings - http://www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/ecb-officials-association/ecb-officials-association-regional-meetings-postponed,1245,BP.html for more details.  Please be aware that their site continues to advertise some courses that are not available.  ACU&S courses GL4, GL5 & GL6 are running in many areas - contact your Regional Councillor for details  http://www.acus.org.uk/forms/ATR.doc .  ICUS are understood to be running one course in Lancashire.

I regret we are out of stock of Open Learning Manuals, Umpire logbooks and ball gauges.  Bowlers markers are only available in plain white plastic variety for the time being.  Please note that Val will not be available on the next two Thursdays.

I have just noticed a couple of interesting web links:

Do please let me have details of courses, events and any other relevant details for my December edition or post for yourself on http://nompere.proboards37.com/index.cgi?action=recent
