I used accutane about twenty years ago and my skin clear stay cleared
for many years until I had a child in my late thirties. My acne flared
up again, so I tend to think that alot my problem is probably hormonal.

I am now taking accutane again in my early forties. At this point in my
life and at my age, I just could not bear to deal with bad acne again.

I have to deal with very chapped lips and the inside of my nose gets
dry and irritated. But my skin is clear, not greasy all the time, and
my dark spots are fading, so it is well worth it for me.

I just hope I am done with acne once and for all. Everyone has
different experiences with accutane. I can say for me it has been
positive.

I think you are in the right direction for the treatment of acne.
Accutane is a powerful drug used in the treatment of acne. Four to five
months of accutane treatment usually leads to clearing of acne for one
year or more after the medicine is stopped. If in any case it returns
again it can be again treated with accutane without any problem. Most
other acne-controlling medicines are antibacterial agents, which are
effective only if the medicine is used daily.
