Dear Help !!!!! I have been away for quite some time and when I opened my
PC I recd. a mge. from Firefox (?) to say that I should up-date my Firefox
browser to their latest version - which I did.
Since then, tne Firefox browser "does not respond" and nor do any of the
desk-top short-cuts for web sites acessed with FF. What have I done wrong
and what can I do to get FF up and running again ?? Your help will be mosr
gratefully recd.
Regards, Tony S.

well just a suggestion , maybe u changed the install path of fire
fox , like u had firefox 2 and installed 3 and it got installed in a
new folder so it will tell u cant find the firefox.exe when ever u try
to click any shortcut so try goin to the path "C:\Program Files
\Mozilla Firefox" or something and get the exe file ur self and the
right click it and then "pin to start menu"
if that doesnt work i guess ud better uninstall firefox completely and
then reinstall it, but then ud lose all the saved passwords though
there is a certain file that u can back up for that but i dont know
its name since i use a plug in to back up my passwords , and then the
bookmarks could get copied and saved from
"C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
\<random named folder>.default\bookmarks.html" as a vista path or
"C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\AppData.." dont remember
the rest , cause i have vista , but ull hopefully get to it.
so after backing up ur bookmarks u could uninstall firefox from the
"Add and Remove" from "Control panel" then install a fresh copy, o and
write down a list with all ur add ons because ull need to reinstall
that too, yea its kinda annoying.
you also might want to try "System Restore" , too many options i
know , u didnt give much information so im trying to think of all the
possibilities , any way good luck and reply if u have more details or
need something

Very many thanks indeed. I should have used my head instead of rushing into
print: System Restore corrected all probs. without need to use your other
suggestions - however, I shall print this out and keep it in my "idiot's
instruction book"
Regards, Tony.
