The Arizona Commerce Authority is hosting this 2-day Intensive Workshop, that will cover all aspects of writing SBIR/STTR grants including: strategies and tips for writing your proposal, government cost accounting and intellectual property considerations, specifically around SBIR data rights – a critical aspect that is often ignored. The workshop will cover all agencies, including Department of Defense, National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, and NIH.
Who should attend:
- Anyone planning on submitting an SBIR/STTR proposal in the next 12 months
- Individuals interested in learning enough about the program to determine if they are interested in pursuing future submissions
- Individuals supporting SBIR/STTR applicants and companies including financial managers, business managers, other administrative personnel
- Individuals from academic institutions interested in working with SBIR/STTR applicants as subcontractors and supporting personnel
Why you should attend:
- National averages for proposal success rate of all 2012 SBIR Phase I Awards is 12% (Phase 1 Awards/Phase I Proposals Received) with an average amount of $151,000 – VS Less than 3% of all firms funded by angel investors and less than 1% funded by venture capitalists
- SBIR/STTR funding is NON-DILUTIVE!
- Provides credibility of innovation from funding agency
- Commercialization assistance programs available above the SBIR/STTR funding from many agencies
