Announcing the Annual Keck Center AFM User Workshop

June 1^st-4^th

Lecture: 9-11 am Mon - Thursday

Lab Group 1: noon – 4 pm Tuesday June 2^nd

Lab Group 2: noon – 4 pm Wednesday June 3^rd

Overflow Lab Group 3: noon – 4 pm Thursday June 4^th

 

Including a Special Asylum Research Sponsored Workshop Friday June 5^th 9 am – 5 pm

 The AFM workshop is open to all UA students and researchers who will be using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) for their research projects.  Attendance is limited to 18 and preference will be given to new AFM users.   The 4 day AFM workshop will consist of lecture and lab sections geared to introduce new users to the technique.  Topics covered will include contact mode, intermittent contact mode (tapping or AAC mode), liquid imaging, and data analysis.  On Friday June 5^th an application scientist from Asylum Research will be here to present lecture and demonstrations of Nanomechanical Mapping and blueDrive on the Cypher AFM.  This special workshop is included for AFM workshop attendees.  This workshop is provided free of charge, and the deadline to apply for the course is Friday May 29^th at 5pm. Announcing a special AFM demonstration sponsored by JPK Instruments that will be held June 16th and 17th.  The demonstration event will start with a lecture introducing JPK AFM instruments and the advantages of combining AFM with optical microscopy in the morning of June 16th.  JPK will be bring their NanoWizard AFM and optical microscope instrument to demonstrate their capabilities.  Imaging of your samples is possible and encouraged!  The deadline to sign up for this FREE event is Friday June 12th.  To sign up go to: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-cbd8WPUWQt-nHMNyfuOZ7ldw8QvMtCBbe08xnJdQVU/viewform?usp=send_form
