New to AWOS

I'm a computer science student who have tested so many OS, but I have found this interesting project which agrees with some ideas that I have about a good OS. I don't have experience in OS programming, but I can contribute with this project and learn so many things. I want to ask some questions:

AWOS is planned to have an integrated GUI?(ideas I have is about it)
Why not use the GPL license?
How it would run (in the future) app from others platforms? (Inform me about it please)
