There appears to be no doubt that the event is being set up to give the impression that issues relating to Palestinian and Israeli workers are on par with each other and to normalise the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine and the illegal treatment of Palestinian workers. Debate chairman, Paul Howes, recently helped start Trade Unions Linking Israel and Palestine (TULIP), to fight "boycott Israel" initiatives and "to challenge the apologists for Hamas and Hizbollah in the labour movement".
