Vieques Session for ASA 2012

Hi Folks,

The ASA program committee is very interested in doing something
Vieques-related for ASA 2012 in San Juan. I'm still working on
learning how much they can help with organizational and financial
support, but I'm appealing to all of you to help put this together as
well. If there are any suggestions about what might make sense -- a
roundtable, a panel, a moderated discussion, a film showing, something
that I'm not thinking of -- or possible participants (academics,
activists, members of the military, and so on), I'm eager to hear
them. Also, if anyone wants to help organize, I'd appreciate the help.
This is not, by any means, my specialty, and so will likely not
participate in the ultimate panel, but I think it's an important
opportunity for the ASA.

Any thoughts that you have are welcome.
