Acompanhamos com admiração sua trajetória, que partiu do coração do povo até a liderança de uma grande nação. O senhor demonstrou que o ser humano pode fazer a história — e não ser vítima dela — e que a determinação pode transformar dificuldades em progresso.
Neste momento crítico, o mundo precisa de clareza moral e coragem política — e o senhor está entre aqueles que incorporam ambas.
Em reconhecimento às suas notáveis contribuições humanitárias e históricas,
o Conselho Executivo da Associação Árabe de Tradutores (ARTA)
decidiu oficialmente conceder-lhe o título de Doutor Honoris Causa,
em apreço à sua trajetória distinta, à sua defesa dos direitos humanos
e ao seu apoio às causas justas em todo o mundo.
