Illinois ARES HF Net Sunday 17 JUL 2011

The Illinois ARES HF Net will meet Sunday, 17 JUL 2011 at 1630 local
time on 3.905 MHz LSB. All Illinois ARES and RACES members are
encouraged to participate. Illinois ARRL Section cabinet members and
field appointees (OES, ORS, OO's, etc.), are likewise invited to the
net. Out-of-state check-ins will be invited into the net once we've
cleared the decks of Illinois ARES business.

ARES DEC's and ADEC's should plan to participate or make arrangements
with a proxy to represent the District and perform the county roll
call. Region RACES Officers and Deputy RO's, feel free to hop in and
perform this job if no DEC or ADEC for your Region/District is
available. As always, the list of counties (by district) can be
downloaded from this reflector's 'FILES' section
(www.yahoogroups.com) and from the www.iesma.org website at the
'Illinois ARES/RACES Document' tab.

Propagation on 3.9 MHz during daylight hours will, as always, be
problematic. The D-layer of the ionosphere will be fully ionized and
signals will pass straight thru the layer into space instead of being
reflected back down to earth. For that reason, we'll need a lot of
help from all points in Illinois to get through this net.

Barring thunderstoms in my neighborhood, I plan to serve as NCS.
