To have an official appointment as an ARRL field official appointee, you have to be a member of the ARRL.

It seems to me that all EC (and OES, SEC, ASEC, DEC, ADEC, ASM,etc) should use their valuable ARRL privileges to have an email alias of  < call...@arrl.net>  which greatly assists your neighboring EC/IL like Bob W9ICU, your own DEC/IL or  various assistant ARRL appointees in contacting you by email, and helps your local ARES interested fellow amateurs get in touch to register in ARES with you!

So as an Assistant SEC, I strongly suggest and urge all EC/IL, DEC/IL  and OES/IL to get an alias email
