Hi,

I run the archive for a company based in Glasgow, and we are currently
looking into a project to set up an on-site archive and bring back all
our records from Iron Mountain. We have a very large amount of data
which would need to be recalled, checked, sorted, repackaged, indexed
and scanned. Therefore, we would be looking to bring in a number of
volunteers wishing to gain experience in archiving and records
management, probably starting in August this year.

Applications are now invited for the post of Archives Assistant
(Graduate Trainee).
Colleagues are asked to bring this to the attention of likely
candidates.

The University of Glasgow's Graduate Archive Training Programme gives
a
wide range of experience to those intending to apply for one of the
university courses in Archives & Records Management in the UK or
Ireland.
In addition to searchroom supervision and document delivery
duties, trainees are given their own cataloguing projects, and also
work
on a variety of other tasks. Trainees are also offered a range of
supporting activities, such as visits, training courses and seminars,
to
help them gain a fuller understanding of careers in this field.
