hello amazing women, wanted to kick off the week by letting you know about a great new program started by a fellow API sister.

My good friend Tina started a non-prof called MotherCoders, its mission is to on-ramp moms to careers in the tech and innovation economy.  Here's the pitch:

Due to childcare, time, and cost constraints, it's often difficult for moms to to pick up the technical skills necessary to compete in today's dynamic, tech-driven economy.  Yet in order to grow our innovation economy -- a vibrant one that's strong, inclusive, and diverse, we need moms to bring their awesome.  That's why MotherCoders has designed a program that will make it easier for moms by offering:

            - Saturday classes + on-site childcare
            - an intro to computer programming + tech industry overview
            - networking + career counseling

Since you're a mom living in the Bay Area, I thought you might be interested in being part of their pilot program targeted for sometime in October through November.  If you are, please fill out this survey: http://bit.ly/MoCoSurvey.

If you have questions, please contact me my friend Tina Lee, founder of MotherCoders at ti...@mothercoders.org.

Please spread the word to other moms you know!  And tell Tina Linda sent ya :)

Best,
Linda
