Hello all,
I am new to NAPAWF and am coming to you with an urgent appeal for a dear friend and fellow sister.
Nina Polvanich Louie has large
B-cell lymphoma and has only 2 months to find a bone marrow donor. Nina
is a Houston native, Stanford (Class of '02), and Harvard alum (HBS '07)
of Chinese descent.
She's an amazing friend, wife, and mother to a 2.5 year old boy,
Donovan.
Nina's been fighting this cancer for the past 9 months and 7 rounds of
chemo with such incredible courage, but she now needs a bone marrow
transplant and because of her Asian heritage, it's difficult for her to
find a match in the registry due to the low donor pool of people of color.
Can you help us
spread the word about how people, especially people of color, can help save Nina and others with
curable blood diseases?
Typing is done with a simple cheek swab that you can do with a home kit
or
by attending in person at a local drive.
We are organizing drives in the
SF, LA, Boston, and Colorado areas this weekend and the next. There is a drive TODAY, 5/24, at the Biltmore Santa Clara from 4:30-7:30 and a drive 5/28 on Stanford campus at 291 Campus Drive from 12-4.
More information on Nina's cause are at

Swab a cheek, save a life!
Warmly,
