On Monday, June 4 the Senate returns from recess to begin debate on S. 1348, an immigration reform bill introduced on May 17. S. 1348 will decimate the family-based immigration system, creating more separation of families. Senator Feinstein must take leadership & responsibility and protect immigrant families!

Immigration reform must preserve all current family preference categories, fully eliminate the family immigration backlogs, create a future worker program with a path to citizenship and broad legalization (affordable fees and no touchbacks or triggers) for all. 가족이민 보호와 인도적 합법화를 촉구하는 집회

언론을 통해 보도가 된 것 같이 현재 미국 연방 상원에서는 가족 이민 초청을 사실상 폐지하고, 서류미비자가 본국으로 돌아가게 한 뒤 비싼 비용을 내고 합법화를 신청할 수 있는 이민 법안을 논의 중에 있습니다. 그리고 돌아오는 6월4일부터 6월 8일 중 상원에서 표결이 있을 예정 입니다.

만일 현 상원 법안이 통과 되면 시민권 연장자의 성인 자녀 초청과 형제 자매 초청이 폐지 됩니다. 그리고 사실상 한인 이민 역사도 끝이 나는 것과 마찬가지 입니다.

이에 민족학교는 가만히 앉아만 볼 수 는 없어서 존경하는 연장자 분들과 함께 가족 이민 초청 권리가 지켜 질 수 있도록, 또한 수 많은 서류미비자가 본국으로 돌아 가지 않고 미국에 거주하며 합법 신분을 신청 할 수 있도록 6월 6일 (수) 낮 12시 산타 모니카에 있는 미연방 상원 사무실 앞에서 촉구 집회를 가지려 합니다.
