All Peoples Church is seeking proposals from artists in the community to create a new mural within our sanctuary (worship space). The mural is a large space and preference will be given to projects that engage and reflect the community, support the core values of the congregation, and create beauty that fulfill our mission to Let the glory of the Lord rise among All Peoples.
Proposals will be screened by a committee with final proposals being presented to the congregation for a vote at the annual meeting in January 2014.
Details:
Project description: Create a new mural within the worship space of All Peoples Church
Mural Size: approx 20’ wide x 12’ tall
Timeline: RFPs accepted until December 31, 2013. Finalist should include a full color rendering for presentation to the congregation. Final decision will be made by votes at the annual meeting January 26, 2014. Project should be completed prior to April 20, 2014.
Commission: $1,500
Other details: Artists will be responsible for providing materials. All Peoples does not own scaffolding and this will be negotiated with the winning artist. Artist working on the mural will be screened through a background check. All proposals become property of All Peoples Gathering Lutheran Church. Commission is issued in two installments, one at the awarding of the project and the other at the completion of the project.
Eligibility: Individual artists, groups or organizations are welcome to apply. Applicants may submit multiple designs.
Items to submit: Name and contact information; brief autobiographical statement; statement of interest in this specific project; ideas for community engagement; description of mural; sketches of your proposal; examples of previous mural or artistic experience.
