Dear Friends and Supporters of All Peoples Church,

Today, if your inbox looks like mine, it will be flooded with worthy organizations, causes you care about, and at least a couple from folks you’ve never heard of. In the holiday blitzkrieg madness of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday. Follow the hashtag on social media and see what folks are doing. Since the Christmas season has become hyper-commercialized, Giving Tuesday makes even donating money part of the shopping frenzy.

As people of faith, giving is not something that comes from an impulse (or an inbox). It is not a gimmick and it is not from guilt. Scripture tells us “God delights in a cheerful giver.” So it is our prayer that when you give, it is from the joy of sharing what you have. We give back, O God, what you have first given us: ourselves, our time, and our possessions.

So, if this message reminds you to make that donation to the ministry of All Peoples, that’s wonderful. If it inspires you to spend a little more time in service, thanks for giving back. If it tells you that your cheerful gift should go to another worthy place, fantastic. There are plenty of great organizations to support. Whatever the case may be, I hope that you will find the joy of sharing not just on Giving Tuesday, but everyday.

Peace, ps

——
