With respect to your time always, I'm going to make this short and sweet. A few pieces of good news from the Art Of Hustle trenches as we exit 2011...
1. I got a full-time gig.
A rockin' one! After two years of indie grinding - ronin-style -
consulting, speaking, and leading many workshops, I'm proud to announce
I've been appointed
Director of Communications & Special Events
at one of my all-time favorite art organizations, Intersection for the
Arts. Not to fret, Art Of Hustle will undoubtedly continue to grow,
serve, and spread the wealth, thanks all to your support!
In fact, I'm seeking guest bloggers. You game?
2. I'm working with Theatre Bay Area.
Yes, I'm lucky to let you know this top service organization has hired
me to facilitate a series of dialogues happening within their all-new
Cohort Learning training program, running from January through June.
I've seen the preliminary roster and I'm excited to be sharing this
special space with some familiar names as well as artists that I look
forward to getting to know.
3. I'm attending The 99 Percent Conference in New York this spring. Not to be confused with Occupy Wall Street, The 99
Percent is a website and think tank aimed at serving designers and
similar creatives. Its name is derived from the Thomas Edison quote:
"Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." The99Percent.com and
its parent sites, Behance.com and Behance.net, are ones I've admired for
some time now. So, I was entirely floored to learn that I was selected
to be a Fellow at their upcoming annual conference! Yes, New Yorkers,
let's catch up!
It's not been an easy journey:
being unemployed, building a service business from scratch, and facing
the unknown over and over again, among life's other difficulties. But I
can't and I don't complain. It's been crrrazy amounts of fun and an
adventure. A true education.
And now, here we are, one day away from another exciting revolution
around the sun. Raise your glass! I propose a toast to YOU - for
pursuing your vision, giving your all, practicing generosity and
remembering to enjoy yourself along the way.
All the best always,
Anthem
And it's going to be awesome!
