Good Evening,


Please read below the traffic advisory from the DC Convention Center concerning the memorial service for Chuck Brown.


Also here is the link for the forum at the Convention Center on Friday, June 1st sponsored by the Public Defenders Office for returning citizens.  They will have legal advice and other helpful information for residents.  Registration closes on 5/31.  Please pass it on.

Traffic Advisory

Issue Date:  May 28, 2012

 

 

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will host the memorial service for Chuck Brown on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 12 Noon until 3:00 pm.  This event is open to the public with attendance projected at 14,000+.

 

Temporary Road Closure

 

L Street will be temporarily closed between 7th and 9th streets on Thursday, May 31st from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm.  There will be no disruption to traffic circulation on 7th or 9th streets.

 

For additional information about other road closures and/or the public viewing at the Howard Theater on Tuesday, May 29th, please see the traffic advisory below issued by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).

 

Special Notes

You may anticipate increased WMATA ridership (especially at the Mt Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center station), taxi usage and pedestrian/vehicular traffic. 

 

Events DC Transportation Services staff and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers will manage the taxi lane on Mount Vernon Place.     

 

The appropriate District agencies have been notified for additional traffic monitoring and enforcement of parking regulations in the area surrounding the Convention Center.
