Dear Barbara,
My husband is on Gleevec and doing well, I am a friend of Ruth's. AMN107
trials are soon to start in Singapore where we live and our doctor was
asking if any AMN107 patients I know have suffered adverse side-effects.
Would you mind sharing your side-effects with us?
As far as I know, the AMN107 trial protocol for Phase I had escalating
doses starting from 200mg.
One caregiver posted on another CML site that her husband who is on AMN107
had to stop the drug because of low platelet count. They are also in the
UK, part of the Newcastle AMN107 trial.
One of our BMS trial patients is having very low platelet count with
BMS354825, did you have any low platelets with AMN107? The doctor never
takes him off the drug, asks for an exemption to protocol and lets him have
platelet transfusions.
Best Wishes,
Anjana

drug for the time being, as it seems to be too toxic for me. My consultant
is away till next week, so I had no-one to ask for advice.
