Suggestion; use JAG sticker paper - it has a sticky surface you just
peal the back surface off and stick it on a Ziploc Sandwich bag. It
already has 2 tiny holes punched on the one corner area for any
moister to disappear in preventing mouldiness.
On the sticker type or write:
1. Call name:
2. Registered name
3. Registration number
4. Micro-chip number (as this can sometimes fail and become inactive)
5. Your name and contact details
Place these swaps in their packages each zip-locked in the small
plastic bag into a plastic container which also has an air and
moisture outlet cap.
I would say keep about 5 swaps, should you require some for id your
Alaskan Malamute and placing such details on record with a research
institution such as Onderstepoort. Should another 3 be required for
future projects to identify a genome cell causing for instance
dysplasia, cataracts, thyroid or coat funk problems in your lines,
they will become handy. Last one you can always apply for and when
needed.
Additional as a precaution I would also suggest that you keep some
hair in a few Ziploc bags and id them in the same manner as the swaps.
They can also be utilised for and when required.
