It is my sad duty to let you know that Fred Vores, Head Boy (School Captain) of Allen in 1945 has just passed away at the age of 87 years.

to his friends as “Mark”.

carrying out the role of Head Boy, Fred exemplified what the school stood for.

demonstrated his commitment to the role by participating in the wider aspects of school life.

led from the front, he came first in his class, was awarded the Archibald Prefect’s Medal, was presented with a Special Medal for Dramatics, was Heavyweight boxing Champion of the school, was awarded the school Colours for Boxing, and won the A.F. (I) Detachment’s Cross Country Marathon. Fred was someone the younger students looked up to, and through this office he was able to help them to enjoy the benefits of the opportunities offered at our school. He always showed a smart sense of self-presentation and was an excellent ambassador for the school. Warmest Regards, Derek.
