Dear Friends,
We received this Email from Audrey Phillips earlier today :-

I have some sad news
Bishop Stanley Downes is very ill and hospitalised with bone cancer which is spreading fast. This was diagnosed yesterday. I saw him this morning and he was cheerful but in pain and discomfort.. not even complaining of anything but tiredness.

We are all very sad and praying that he will be able to fight the discomfort and pain which he is going through.

Please also pass this on to as many WAS folk as you can.
Audrey

Stanley, as you all know, was Captain of Allen in 1944.   He entered the Church and was Bishop of Bombay (now Mumbai) before retiring.   He was a member of our Society and a regular visitor to the School.    He visited the U. K. about 7 years ago and met members of our Society over lunch in a typical 'English Pub'.   He said he wanted to sample the great British Dinner - a plate of "Fish and Chips"
Please pray for him in your own way.
Yours sincerely,
Derek
