We have a lot to look forward to having our own chapter in Alabama. We
are the only state in our region that does not have an active TLCA
club. For years Toyota enthusiasts and owners have only a few
opportunities a year to meet and wheel in our state. Those of us who
have been lucky enough to be part of smaller local Toyota clubs,
groups, or just friends will now have an opportunity to interact with
more people in our state. Our new chapter will finally bring all of us
together and will be a benefit all of us!

A lot of ideas have been going around since interest in getting an
Alabama chapter started back up. We will have regular meetings during
the year, hopefully at least once a quarter. The meeting places will
vary in location across the state during the year giving everyone an
opportunity to get together. We will have a club web site, email
accounts, a forum on mud, and club provided materials (flyers, cards,
etc.) to let other Toyota enthusiasts and owners know about us and
give us the opportunity recruit new members. As a chapter, we can now
attend other TLCA events and have our presence know as a club. We will
be known as a group and not just another guy at the event.

We will have an annual club event in the same format as our
neighboring clubs. We can have club-only events at different locations
throughout the year to provide and opportunity to meet, wrench, learn
from others, and wheel. Over the past several years several OHV parks
have surfaced throughout Alabama that will only give us more
opportunities to drive and meet in different parts of the state.
Please keep in mind and suggest parks and places that you enjoy that
would be ideal for a chapter TLCA event.

The future success of our chapter will rely on our hard work and
planning together as charter members!

Here is a link to a new OHV park in Cullman, AL.

It would be awesome if we could get involved with the development and
design of this OHV.

This maybe a good opportunity to do a club project and start a
relationship with the park. It looks like a good spot to host an event
once it gets up and running.

From their description it looks like they are designing it around ATVs
and rock buggies. I would assume most of us do not have rock buggies
and would be interested in some milder OHV trails, not mud holes or
major rock obstacles. From the map, it appears that most of the ATV
trail area will be open to offroad vehicles as well.

I live in Cullman (City)... From what I hear that site is trying to
be all things to all people, but I do see a lot of traffic from the
4wheelers. The "park" is located south of Cullman, not to far from
Hanceville, AL. I've only driven buy it. I belive Cullman County owns
this (not bothered to check out the link prior to my posting).

Sorry... I may have provided some wrong information. I belive now
that there is this Park owned by
the county and there is also some type of trail park that's privatley
owned near Hanceville. I'll found
out more. Bremen is out towards the southern part of Smith Lake (in
Cullman County)....so there
are two different places apparently. I believe the private park is
owned by the Guy who runs Wilburn Outdoors.
